Traditions & Activities

Every day at Camp Fern Legacy is packed with things to do—swimming, horseback riding, archery, arts and crafts, individual and team sports, outdoor experiences, and a whole lot more. You’ll try stuff you’ve never tried, get better at stuff you love, and probably discover a new favorite thing you didn’t know existed.

On the first day, you’ll build your own adventure by choosing your activities from our core schedule! Six favorites for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and another six for Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. You’ll also have the opportunity to select two water activities per day for an opportunity to cool off.

Discover What You'll Do

Arts and Crafts

Friendship bracelets, tie-dye, leatherwork, woodworking, painting—you name it. Make something cool to give to a friend or to take home to show off. Creative projects range from easy to impressive, so whether you’re crafty or just curious, you’ll find something fun.

Outdoor Experiences

Get outside and explore God’s creation! Learn about the plants and animals that call the East Texas Piney Woods home, learn to cook a meal over a campfire, and explore parts of camp most people never see. This is the kind of stuff you can’t Google.

English Horseback Riding

Never ridden before? No problem. Been riding for years? That’s great too. Our English riding program meets you where you are. You’ll learn to ride, care for your horse, and maybe find a four-legged friend you’ll remember long after summer ends.

Archery & Riflery

Take aim. Breathe. Focus. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of hitting your target—especially that first bull’s-eye. Archery and riflery are core activities at Camp Fern Legacy, and have been camp favorites since 1934.

Sports & Games

Tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, gaga ball—pick your game. It’s not about being the best; it’s about playing hard, laughing lots, and maybe pulling off a win no one saw coming.

Waterfront

The lake is where summer happens. Swim, canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or take a lap around the lake on skis. Certified lifeguards are always on duty, and every camper takes a swim test—so you can jump into the fun with confidence.

Ropes Course

Climb higher than you thought you could. Our challenge course is designed to help you face your fears at your own pace, with elements for every comfort level. Test your limits. And when you get to the top? The view’s pretty great.

Evening Activities

Camp-wide competitions, carnival, cabin performances—our evening activities keep the fun going after dinner and give you a chance to be silly, embrace healthy competition, and make friendships outside of their cabin mates.
