Never a moment to spare, we believe that the busier campers are, the happier they will be. A day at Camp Fern Legacy is full of varied and interesting happenings.
1st Session (GC1/BC1):
Gates open at 2:00 PM. After check-in, you’ll have time to help your camper settle into their cabin and meet their counselors. Head checks and temperature checks are required before entry and begin at 1:00 PM.
2nd Session (GC2/BC2):
Check in at Magnolia Manor between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM. You’ll have time to help your camper settle into their cabin before they jump into the fun activities — please leave by 3:30 PM. Head checks and temperature checks are required before entry and begin at 2:30 PM.
1st Session (GC1/BC1):
Closing Day pickup is between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Drive to the circle drive by the riflery range for pickup. Don’t forget to check the lost and found and sign up for early bird to reserve your camper’s spot for next year.
2nd Session (GC2/BC2):
Like the 4-week session, closing Day begins at 9:30 AM and ends with gates closing at noon. Make sure to catch the war canoe race! Please check out at the Rec Hall and check the lost and found. Don’t forget to sign up for Early Bird to reserve your camper’s spot for next year.
We are so excited for you to get to Camp this summer. We are thrilled for you to join our Camp Fern Legacy family and can’t wait to start making memories that last a lifetime! If you need anything along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!

Talk About What to Expect:
A few weeks before camp, start conversations about the daily schedule, cabin life, activities, and how much fun they’ll have. Let them know it’s normal to feel a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Practice Independence:
Help your camper practice skills like making their bed, organizing belongings, and managing personal hygiene on their own.
Stay Positive:
Your confidence helps build theirs. Focus on the adventures ahead rather than the time apart.
OK the Feelings; Homesickness is Normal:
If your camper mentions feeling homesick before leaving, reassure them that many campers feel this way — and that our counselors are trained to help them through it.

Meet our team, learn about summer opportunities, and find out what it’s like to work at Camp Fern Legacy. Bring your questions — we’d love to meet you!
Label everything — from water bottles to sweatshirts — before your camper arrives. It makes transitions smoother, prevents mix-ups, and gives your child one less thing to worry about as they settle in. A little preparation goes a long way toward a confident first day at camp.
